A small selection of our comments from our community work
To all the smilescool staff at Reece Associates,
I would like to extend our gratitude to you all for the wonderful effort put in to making our visit to smilescool so enjoyable. The children had a wonderful day and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Hopefully those children that expressed a fear of visiting you are now less frightened of the fate that might behold them when they visit a dentist!
The children followed up their visit by setting up their own dentists and practiced looking at each other’s teeth. They all have new toothbrushes and continue to talk about what is healthy for their teeth.
Thank you again for making our day such fun.
Jo and all the children and staff in Pre-school
Dear Smilescool Team,
Thank you so much for all the hard work from numerous members of your team in delivering the smilescool workshops in our school. There was so much positive feedback from teachers, teaching assistants and, of course, from the children – as I’m sure you’ll see when you read their evaluations and comments!
We are very keen to keep in contact and hope that you will be able to work again with our school next year, in particular with the children and parents in our Nursery.
Again, many thanks
Jodie, PSHE and Healthy Schools Co-ordinator

I quite enjoyed the activities we got to do like scrubbing eggs and taking out spoonfuls of sugar onto a plate to show how many spoonfuls of sugar are in certain foods or drinks. I also liked seeing what a flosser was like and how to use it. The last thing I enjoyed was looking through the microscope to see what bacteria was like. Hannah
I enjoyed tasting the tablet, it was very fruity. It helped me where I had to brush more. I enjoyed the whole activity, especially the bit when I watched my friends scrubbing the eggs and looking through the telescope, seeing the bacteria on the teeth made me brush my teeth extra carefully. Grace
I enjoyed looking through the microscope at the bacteria it showed what kinds of things are on your teeth, it was fun even though it was disgusting. Michala
I enjoyed that I saw pictures of teeth and saw real teeth that were rotten and horrid, it looked disgusting
I enjoyed when the dentist showed the purple tablet on your teeth. And the photos she took and they were for real. Anthony
I enjoyed the tablet because it shows where you didn’t clean them and I liked the pictures. Elisha
I enjoyed everything. Elly

That lesson was great! The plaque under the microscope was weird as I’ve never seen plaque close up. And the egg brushing was interesting – I’m surprised the eggs didn’t break! Did you hard boil them? Overall I give you 10/10 it was really good fun. And I learnt how to floss. Thank you for a good time I don’t think anything could be improved. Thomas
I liked looking into the scientific microscope because I’d never done it before. Furthermore the experiment with the eggs helped me to understand what fizzy drinks do to our teeth. Daniel
I liked the part where I did an experiment with the eggs; I cleaned the egg with toothpaste. Bandhana
I liked the way that it is not just sitting and listening. I also liked that there is a lot of advice. Joshua
I liked it because you didn’t just sit there and listen you got to ask questions, pass around things, look through a microscope and did experiments. Alex
I also liked the disclosing tablet my teeth were mostly white. Zara
I enjoyed many things when we went to the dentist. But what I enjoyed most of all was looking at the bacteria under the microscope it was gross but I enjoyed it in every single way. Divya
I liked the way you made the facts interesting and fun. Chris
